| When Kevin and Brendan King (owner) met in the early 1990's while working at the same treatment center for youth. Over the years both of them were certified as instructors in numerous crisis intervention curriculum's that the facility brought on board to deal with the aggresive behavior exhibited by the residents of the organization. Over time as they moved up the corporate ladder Kevin took a position in Risk Management and was responsible for the oversight of the organizations compliance with Federal, State, and local laws as well as Accredidation standards. Consistenly striving to improve the way the organization dealt with their clients Kevin was often single-handedly responsible for guiding the facility through countless sucessful State level audits due to prior mistakes of the previous administration and facility supervisors. He also assisted in supervising both adolescent male and female residential treatment units filling in personnel gaps when needed, during difficult and challenging times of growth for the organization. Upon Mr. King's return from Iraq in 2003 he contacted Kevin and told him of his desire to start the Crisis Consultant Group, LLC. He told him of his wish to create a progressive, groundbreaking curriculum combining the best verbal and physical intervention skills that they had both been perfecting during their years of working together within the facility dealing with hundreds, if not thousands of crisis situations. Kevin jumped at the opportunity. During the next 4 months of tireless effort Kevin brought his expertise of physical intervention and risk management to the table for the development sessions with Mr. King. Eventually they had found what they were looking for and began looking for willing facilities and administrators who were ready to take a chance with a small, unknown company who had created something remarkable, and previously unheard of. The rest of the story is found on the other pages of this site. Mr. Tharp has become an extremely successful entrepreneur in Pennsylvania owning numerous small, to mid size companies, specializing in Real Estate and related industries. He no longer trains with CCG, LLC though stays in contact with Mr. King and offers skilled business advice and suggestions when sought. |
