| Having had over 30 years of supervisory/management experience in the Law Enforcement and Corrections field, Mr. Perkins was an excellent addition to the CCG training team. Jeff is extremely experienced in dealing with crisis situations from the front lines as well as on a supervisory level. His leadership roles have spanned to include small project supervision and large complex assignments within the US Navy. At one point while overseas, Jeff was tasked with managing an entire Law Enforcement Division with over 140+ personnel in Rota, Spain. During that time he was regularly required to prevent, deter, and respond to mid-level and large scale crisis situations while supervising and directing personnel under his charge. These experiences added to building his comfort level when dealing with chaotic, and otherwise out of control situations. Jeff also attained certification as a Master Training Specialist while enlisted in the Navy. This qualification required ongoing development of curriculum, as well as teaching skills and techniques in the classroom and in the field to fellow servicemen and superiors. Currently working within the Maine Department of Corrections Juvenile Division, Jeff holds a supervisory position responsible for the facility safety, and day to day management of security operations and personnel. Dealing with incarcerated adolescents who are prone to creating crisis situations is often a daily occurrence. Jeff spends the majority of his time overseeing, managing, training, and monitoring his security staff and the facility to ensure policy and procedures are being followed, as well as striving to improve the organizational operations as a whole. Jeff brings an up-close, reality based, highly experienced level of course instruction to CCG participants, and we are glad to have him on the team. |
